"I highly recommend Jose's Painting L.A. I contracted with them to paint my 2.5 story craftsman home with a lot of detail and they did a beautiful job. I loved the fact that I received a fast itemized quote so I knew exactly what to expect. The workers were all professional and courteous. Also the work area was cleaned up everyday before they left. I would definitely use them again."

"Bob arrived on time for quote. Price was fair based on other properties I have had painted. Bob and his crew did quality work. Since this is a rental property and I was not onsite each day, Bob sent pics and updates every day. They sanded old wood windows and wood trim and made them look fresh again. Fixed holes and imperfections in walls and painted. They also installed new baseboards and window trim in some locations. They also finished the job a day early. I finally found a quality painter that I can trust."

"I left for work upon arrival of the painters(7 man crew). When I arrived home, they had finished approx. 95% of paint job. Mistakenly, they painted garage door white, and painted the accent wood on front door and landing white as well as back door. I pointed out their mistake & without any attitude, they promptly repainted the areas my selected color. The foreman also returned to touch up some areas that I requested. My aunt is going to have them paint a building for her and my son has an apartment building he plans to request Mr. White do the paint job."

"The painting job went great. The two painters, Lester and Carlos, showed up promptly at 8am each day and kept me informed regarding the work for the day. The whole project took 3 days. My main concern was for my master bedroom, which had some spots and wear and tear on the walls. Lester addressed the issue with priming the walls and painting. They helped me move furniture away from the walls and put it back after painting."

Customers say: True professional
"I give my highest, utmost, fullest recommendation to Aldo & Etel. I wish I could give them 100 stars, truly, and I don’t say that lightly. We had Aldo’s team paint our entire new house’s interior various colors, as well as the entirety of kitchen cabinets and all bathroom cabinets, and also some outside areas, and they did an absolutely stellar job. They emphasize quality and skill in their paint work (e.g., trim work, coating, finish, etc.) and Aldo was incredibly hands-on throughout the entire process. Moreover, I wasn’t the easiest client to work with given all the various decision changes I made regarding colors at some points, but Aldo was an absolute gem of a human and pro in elegantly navigating these changes with me and my husband. Aldo & Etel is the only painters I will be working with for additional future projects, and I’ve already shared their name with multiple friends as referrals with my full endorsement. You are truly in the best hands with Aldo’s team."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
